Which Question Types Can I Use?

Adding questions

In a test's Questions tab, click Add Question. The menu attached to it also offers Import CSV, see Import Questions from a CSV, and Generate with AI to create questions from a prompt.

Question types

Every question has a type selector at the top of the editor with three options:

Multiple choice (MCQ)

Enter the question text, then add between 2 and 6 answer options. Drag the handles to reorder options while you work. Mark the correct one by clicking the letter button beside it.

True / False (T/F)

Enter a statement, then mark whether True or False is the correct answer.

Short

Enter the question text and the expected response in the Correct Answer (Exact Match) field. Responses aren't compared automatically; this field documents what a correct answer looks like for when you grade by hand.

You can change a question's type later, but doing so clears its options and answer key after a confirmation prompt.

Points

Each question has a point value that defaults to 1. Give harder questions more points if you want; totals across the test are calculated automatically.

Editing and organizing

• Click the ⋯ menu on a question card and choose Edit Question to open it in the editor.
• Drag the handle on a question card to reorder. People see questions in exactly this order unless you enable shuffling in the experience settings.
• Delete a question with Delete Question from the ⋯ menu on its card.

How grading works

Multiple choice and true/false questions are scored automatically against your answer key the moment a test is submitted. Short answers wait for manual review instead. See Grade Submissions for the full workflow.
