How Do I Join a Test?

Joining with a link

The simplest path is clicking the link you were given in an email, chat message, or QR code. If you're not signed in yet, you'll be asked to sign up or log in first, using email and password or Google.

Joining with a code

The organizer also gets a short join code, written like ABCD-EFGH-IJKL. Either the code or the full link works everywhere: the Join Test card on your dashboard, or the pre-flight screen if one was sent to you. The dashes are only there to make it readable; type it with or without them.

Pasting it yourself

Already have an account? Your dashboard has a Join Test card. Paste the full link or the join code into it and you're taken to the pre-flight screen.

The access dialog

When you follow a test link, an access dialog opens to confirm your organization membership. It names the organization the test belongs to, so you can see where you're about to end up. There are three cases:

• Join Organization: you're not a member of that organization yet. The dialog asks you to join it as a participant; click Join & Continue to go straight into the test.
• Switch Workspace: you're already working in a different organization. Click Switch & Continue to move into the test's organization first.
• Accept Invitation: someone invited you to that organization and you haven't accepted yet. Click Accept & Continue to accept it and join the test.

Cancel leaves you exactly where you were, which is the right choice if you only meant to peek at the link.

What happens after joining

Once you continue, you're connected to the organization (if you weren't already) and the test appears on your dashboard alongside everything else assigned to you. You only ever need the link or code once. Future visits go straight to your dashboard.

If joining doesn't work

• The test may not be published yet. Ask whoever shared it.
• Its availability window may not have opened, or may have already ended.
• It may be private, restricted to specific groups, and you're not in one of them. Ask to be added.
• Couldn't Find That Test: the link or code doesn't match any test. Check it and try again.

Getting ready

After the access dialog, you'll see the pre-flight screen with the test title, instructions, and who assigned it. Continue with Pre-Flight Checks and Taking a Test.
