How Do I Create a Test?

Getting started

Open Tests from the sidebar and click New Test. The editor has three tabs: Questions, Settings, and Share.

Title and instructions

Under Settings > General, give the test a title. The people taking it see this everywhere the test appears, so make it recognizable. Instructions are optional text shown on the start screen before the test begins. Use them for anything people need to know upfront: what the test covers, how long it takes, or your rules.

Saving your first draft

Nothing is created until you save. On the Questions tab you'll find a Save Draft & Add Questions button that saves the draft and opens the question editor. Drafts are only visible to you until you publish.

Adding questions

The Questions tab lists everything in the test. You can add questions one by one, import them from a CSV file, or create them with AI:

• See Import Questions from a CSV to bring in questions from a spreadsheet.
• See Generate a Test with AI to create a full set of questions from a prompt or topic.
• Reorder questions by dragging the handle on each card; this is the exact order people see.

Configuring the experience

The Settings tab has four sections. Use Previous and Next to move between them:

• General: title and instructions.
• Schedule: when the test opens and closes and how long it lasts. See Schedule & Time Limits.
• Experience: whether questions appear one at a time or all at once, whether people can go back to earlier questions, shuffling question order per person, and what results they see afterwards.
• Security: fullscreen requirements, copy/paste prevention, and violation limits. See Security & Monitoring Settings.

Choosing who can take it

On the Share tab, pick a Sharing Mode:

• Public: anyone with the link can take the test.
• Private: only members of the groups you select can take it. See Create Groups or Classes.

Publishing

Once at least one question exists and everything is saved, click Publish (in the header or at the end of Settings). A summary dialog shows your configuration for a final check before it goes live. Until then, the test stays a draft only you can see.

Published tests are locked in read-only mode. To change settings or questions afterwards, unpublish first. Details in Publish & Share a Test.
