## Where grading happens

Open your test and go to **Submissions**. Everyone who has it assigned appears here: in-progress sessions, finished tests waiting on review, and graded ones. Counters at the top summarize how many are submitted and how many still need review.

## What grades itself

Multiple choice and true/false questions score automatically against your answer key the moment someone submits, and skipped questions are recorded as zero points. Those totals appear right away without any action from you.

Short answers don't. They're marked **Needs Review** until you grade them.

## Grading a submission

Use the three-dot menu's **Grade Submission** action to open the grading view. Every question has its own tab showing what the person answered alongside your answer key.

- Auto-graded questions display their computed score, and you can override it if the situation calls for it.
- Short answers give you a point input capped at the question's maximum plus a per-question feedback box that goes to the person.
- A session-level feedback note covers the whole attempt.

Everything saves automatically; the header button alternates between **Save Changes** and **Saved** so you always know where you stand.

## If they're still taking it

A session that's still active can't be graded yet. You can watch it in real time through [Live Monitoring](/guides/live-monitoring-overview) and grade once it's submitted.
